As reported by FOX5 television station in San Diego where the trial is being held in Vista, California, jury selection began and the trial is set to begin. He is facing life in prison with a barrage of charges. Winslow, Jr.’s charges span a wide array of time periods. He is charged with felonies of sexual assault on the same homeless woman twice as two counts of forcible rape, plus first-degree burglary, two counts of kidnapping with intent to commit rape, one count of forcible oral copulation, one count of forcible sodomy, one count of indecent exposure and two counts of residential burglary. In addition, he has misdemeanor charges of elder abuse, battery of an elderly person, and lewd conduct.Last March, while awaiting trial on the first-degree burglary and out on a $2 million bond, he was arrested for lewd conduct for touching himself in the presence of a 77-year old woman in a hot tub at a local health club. That action resulted in his bond being revoked and he has since been incarcerated without bond. All of these charges could result in Winslow, Jr. being put away for life. Three separate cases were originally scheduled but have been combined into one jury trial. He has pled not guilty to all charges. It is speculated that part of his defense could be the result of the brain disease CTE. However, at this time this is only found to be positive once the subject is deceased and a study is performed. His defense team could attempt to use a mental defect defense as a possibility. There are multiple women who currently stand as his accusers, including two elderly women and a then-17 year old female in an incident that occurred in 2003.Winslow, Jr. was a highly-touted offensive threat coming out of college where he was a unanimous All-American and had captured the John Mackey Award for college football’s best tight end. The Browns were slated to select at the number 7 slot in the first-round, then traded a second-round pick and swap one position with the Detroit Lions in order to take Winslow, Jr. with the sixth pick. Still on the board at the time were QB Ben Roethlisberger (Steelers), DT Vince Wilfork (Patriots), RB Steven Jackson (Rams), SS Bob Sanders (Colts) and OG Chris Snee (Giants). His first two seasons in Cleveland was a wash as Winslow, Jr. broke his right fibula his rookie year and then had a motorcycle wreck that eliminated his entire sophomore season. He rebounded with his best season in 2007 where he gained 1 Jarvis Landry Jersey ,106 yards on 82 receptions, five TDs and made the Pro Bowl. The following year he dipped to 43 catches for 428 yards and a mere three TDs. He was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a second and fifth-round draft pick and then signed a six-year $36 million contract. He led the Bucs in receiving for three seasons. Even though he was productive, the club felt his salary did not match his production and then was traded again, this time to the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks attempted to sign him for less money and when he declined, he was waived a week before the 2012 opening game. The New England Patriots picked him, but after one game he was released. The New York Jets signed him the following year, however, after playing in three games he was suspended for four game for violating the league’s PED program and later released after he was arrested for possession of synthetic marijuana. After sitting out two seasons, he had a workout with the Green Bay Packers but was not signed. He later played in the developmental Spring League in 2017 and was invited back to the 2018 Spring League, but did not play. Winslow, Jr. is the son of legendary NFL tight end Kellen Winslow who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995.Photo by Frederick M. The mock drafts that are staff completed for the first round (and part of the second round) can be found here.We will have all of your Browns-related coverage on the draft here at Dawgs a couple days ago. Cleveland’s table is in the back row, sandwiched between the Vikings and Panthers. Directly in front of them? The Pittsburgh Steelers, who are heavily rumored right now to be trading up for a linebacker.6:20 PM: It’s always nice to see a Browns player recognized on the big screen! We’re on the hunt to see if the selection square tables have been posted yet, and where Cleveland’s table is at.6:15 PM: Instead of opening a new thread, I think I’m just going to keep the action here for the day. Speaking of the draft, there are a ton of fans who have showed up to Nashville. Unfortunately, rain may put a bit of a damper on festivities for fans who can’t take cover.3:47 PM: Matt Miller feels the Browns are poised to take a cornerback if they stay put at No. 49 overall.2:52 PM: Here are some good draft rumors, including the Steelers maybe wanting to trade into the Top 10 for a linebacker:2:00 PM: If you didn’t hear, we have an exclusive interview with Browns legend Joe Thomas! You can listen to it here. He talks about his own draft experience, his final season, and whether he thought about coming back for another.11:40 AM: If you’re ever looking for a consensus of what the majority of mock drafts believe a team will select, then check out SB Nation’s Mock Draft database. I love doing this every year with the Browns, but again Genard Avery Color Rush Jersey , sadly, I can’t do it this year because it only covers the first round.this year’s big board, that means there should at least be someone remaining on this thing by the time the Browns are on the clock at No. 49 overall, which was my goal. One slight note that I should point out: DL Dre’Mont Jones likely would have been quite a bit higher on this list. Due to a technical issue, his votes were not being tallied in previous rounds of voting.10:55 AM: The beast that is the Cleveland Browns 2019 NFL Draft Preview Roundtable is now live! If you haven’t followed the draft very much this year, maybe some of those questions and answers will get you in the spirit. As an aside, I absolutely love running the draft live blog every year. One thing I definitely miss this year is going through all of the “final” mock drafts for the likes of Mel Kiper, Todd McShay, Dane Brugler, and Dan Kadar. Because they only consist of the first round, they are pointless for Cleveland fans.10:05 AM: I spent time compiling all of the DBN roundtable comments together, so that feature will be coming soon. In the mean time, what position is the biggest area of need for the Cleveland Browns heading into this year’s draft? It’s a tie between safety and linebacker, each with 46%. No one voted for defensive tackle, so that made me re-think whether I should have had cornerback or offensive tackle as one of the three options instead. However, “other” only received 8% of the vote anyway, so it wouldn’t have influenced the results too much.8:50 AM: We’ll also be touching on some of the bigger NFL rumors today, even if they don’t involve the Browns, because we need something to talk about, right? One rumor is that the Raiders could be looking at QB Dwayne Haskins at No. 4 overall.8:28 AM: Here is this year’s draft hat for the Cleveland Browns. The hat for the Browns is less of a deal since the team doesn’t have any first-round picks. The design is supposed to tie in the state of Ohio flag. I think it is ok, but feedback on social media did not seem to go over very well. You can also see a picture of many of the draft hats being sold for other teams in the mini-gallery below. Let’s start off with some quick primer news for tonight. The first round of the draft takes place THURSDAY, APRIL 25TH at 8:00 PM ET. The Browns have no picks after having traded No. 17 overall to the New York Giants for WR Odell Beckham Jr. But could the Browns trade back into the first round? That is a topic we will discuss in the draft roundtable discussion I’m compiling right now. If there is a team taking offers for that coveted fifth-year option, it could be the Los Angeles Rams:
